We Do Not Mourn

We do not mourn Queen Elizabeth II. We are busy. We are angry at traffic driving to work. We are sad that we still cannot twerk. We have so much Netflix left to watch. We must ignore those ticking clocks. We are stressed at rising costs of living. We are sick of all the senseless killing. We are scared of bloody, practiced hands. We fear for dry and rusted land. We lack support, and time, and money. And yet we must be fit and funny. We dread the Tories' twisted plans. We'd rather mourn our own dead nans
than you, Liz.
It's true it's unbecoming
to celebrate your un-becoming
but neither will I stand in line,
when you would never stand in mine.
You were old, and rich and past your time.
Now your death's on every fucking sign. Who really has the time to care? Who dares believe this world is fair?
